Meet Kaitlyn Flis - Saskatchewan Artist
Acrylic & Soft Pastel Paintings - Prairie Landscapes & Botanical Themes
Kaitlyn moved to Melville, SK from Regina, in the summer of 2022, and soon after joined the Melville Art Club; where we met. She would say her cabin at Round Lake is her favourite place to be. It came as no surprise when we caught up to her at a different cabin; one of the Artisan Cabins at the Kenosee Lake Art Colony in Moose Mountain Provincial Park. Her subject matter is primarily Saskatchewan scenery, more specifically the Qu'Appelle Valley and flowers from my garden. Katie would say, "her heart belongs to the valley," and this is absolutely evident in her spectacular scenic paintings.
We spent time chillin' at the cabin, having some laughs as Kaitlyn shared a few stories of some of her favourite paintings, like Mom's Garden; or was it Mom's Garden?
